The NOAA WP-3D Orion research is one of the world's premier research aircraft, and will be flying during TORUS operations. The P-3 has been used in a wide variety of national and international meteorological, oceanographic and environmental research programs in addition to its widely known use in hurricane research and reconnaissance.
