Storm must last at least 40 min
Correlation between mid-level (~5.6 km) updrafts stronger than 1 m s^-1 and mid-level vertical vorticity must be at least 0.5 for at least 20 min.
Correlation is smoothed with a median filter to avoid threshold artifacts.
